DO YOU KNOW MY WAR?
To Love someone, perhaps, indiscriminately, selflessly, passionately, freely. One by one, Love, a deafening force against the echoing divisions, prejudices, self-induced complications of the mind. Love: a gentle voice asking permission to break you in half. Construction after deconstruction. Next. It lasts longer this time. The first encounter served as practice. Fingertips feel differently now. I dissect your past and vivisect your present. Slowly. We predict a future. The garden is so pretty. Every morning we water the orchids, until one of us forgets.Summer, Fall, Winter, Spring. A feel for every season; palpable visions of tomorrow. I've seen my longings, inclinations, inspirations. Each marked with an imminent death. Darkness. Interrupted by an enriching rebirth; an awakening. Eyes wide open. The fog, lifted. I am still here. A healthy organism existing quietly in the expanding universe. A breathing member of the human race. I close my eyes and smile. The past doesn't leap this far.
